Tapiwa is a highly qualified and accomplished finance leader with over a decade of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, and grant compliance across the NGO, FMCG, insurance, and manufacturing sectors. As National Head of Finance at Project Yananai Zimbabwe, Tapiwa leverages his strong technical expertise, analytical acumen, and process improvement mindset to drive financial stewardship and support the organization’s mission for sustainable community development.

Tapiwa is a full member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a Registered Public Accountant (RPAcc(Z)), and holds an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe. He also possesses an Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business (ACCA) and a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from the University of Zimbabwe.

Throughout his career, Tapiwa has held senior finance and accounting roles in leading organizations, including Cordaid International (Zimbabwe Country Office), Marie Stopes International - Population Services Zimbabwe, Communications and Allied Industries Pension Fund, ZINAHCO, and Fidelity Funeral Assurance. He has a proven track record in designing and implementing computerized accounting systems, integrated risk management solutions, and cutting-edge payroll and leave management platforms.

His areas of expertise include financial and donor reporting, budget planning and monitoring, multi-donor grants management, capacity building, internal controls design, statutory compliance, audit management, and stakeholder engagement. Tapiwa has successfully managed funds from major international donors such as the World Bank, SIDA, NORAD, EU, DFID, UK Aid, and Rutgers, ensuring strict compliance with donor requirements and delivering timely, accurate financial reports.

Tapiwa is known for his exceptional ability to analyze complex financial data, deliver actionable insights, and drive continuous improvement in financial systems and controls. He has led financial capacity assessments for partner organizations and facilitated the acquisition of major grants, supporting effective program delivery and organizational growth.

Proficient in a range of accounting systems (Sun Systems, Sage ERP 1000, Pastel Sage Evolution, Belina Payroll), as well as Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools, Tapiwa is a collaborative leader adept at building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability.
