Sibonginkosi is a results-driven finance professional with over nine years of experience spanning the manufacturing, logistics, and NGO sectors. As Mission Funding Executive at Project Yananai Zimbabwe, Sibonginkosi leverages a robust background in grant accounting, strategic budgeting, financial modelling, and donor compliance to maximize resource mobilization and ensure the sustainable impact of the organization’s mission-driven programs.
Sibonginkosi holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business from ACCA, and is completing the ACCA Professional Stage (expected December 2025). He also holds a Certificate in Supply Chain Management Specialization from Rutgers University.
Throughout his career, Sibonginkosi has demonstrated excellence in financial planning, IFRS-compliant reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. Notably, as Grant Accountant at the Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD), he managed a USD $1.5 million annual budget, streamlined donor reporting across six funding partners, and developed real-time grant-tracking dashboards—significantly improving financial transparency and reporting efficiency. He has a proven track record of building financial capacity among partners, enhancing administrative procedures, and ensuring full compliance with both statutory and donor requirements.
His previous roles include Divisional Finance Manager for Sondelani Ranching (Hamara), where he managed finance for multiple agri-business units, designed costing and pricing models to improve ROI, and mentored finance teams to higher productivity. As Senior Accountant for Trek Petroleum, Sibonginkosi led successful audit preparations, reduced month-end closing time by 30%, and introduced rigorous controls for inventory and asset management. He has also held finance roles at Blackpuck Water, United Refineries, Plan International, and Brethren in Christ Church, where he supported donor-funded programming and risk management initiatives.
Core competencies include financial planning and analysis, cash flow and treasury management, risk mitigation, donor and regulatory compliance, audit preparation, and ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Pastel, QuickBooks, SAGE, Excel). Sibonginkosi is recognized for his analytical acumen, attention to detail, leadership in cross-functional teams, and the ability to translate financial insights into strategic action. He communicates fluently in English, Shona, and Ndebele.
