Amon is a highly motivated and results-oriented audit and risk management professional with more than 16 years of progressive experience in internal auditing, corporate governance, risk management, accounting, and technical education. As National Head of Internal Audit for Project Yananai Zimbabwe, Amon brings his deep technical expertise and proven leadership to strengthen internal controls, promote transparency, and drive strategic value across the organization.

A Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Amon is well-versed in the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), Global Internal Audit Standards, and best practices in risk-based internal auditing. He holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting from Great Zimbabwe University, is a member of the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute (CIS), and has advanced qualifications in accountancy, payroll management, and vocational education.

Amon’s recent experience as Technical & Business Development Officer at the Institute of Internal Auditors Zimbabwe (IIAZ) underscores his commitment to professional excellence. In this capacity, he has provided expert technical guidance, developed and delivered training workshops on internal audit standards and report writing, and promoted IIAZ services to foster membership growth and professional development throughout the sector. He has authored numerous technical materials and articles, contributed to research on audit standards, and collaborated with professional bodies to expand the reach and impact of internal audit in Zimbabwe.

Previously, as Internal Audit Manager/Senior Internal Auditor at the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe, Amon managed and supervised audit teams, implemented risk-based annual audit plans, authored the organization's Internal Audit Manual, and led the recovery of embezzled assets. He was instrumental in embedding enterprise risk management and participated in high-level forensic audit engagements, strengthening the organization’s financial stability and compliance culture. His leadership in training new auditors and developing robust audit frameworks has left a lasting legacy of excellence.

Amon’s career began in education, where he taught Principles of Accounts and Advanced Level Accounting, consistently achieving outstanding pass rates for his students. Beyond his core roles, he has served as a Technical Committee Member for the Standards Association of Zimbabwe and as a council member of the Masvingo Scouts Association, providing financial oversight and guidance.

Amon’s key skills include risk-based internal auditing, forensic audit, data analysis and reporting, audit program development, training facilitation, and stakeholder engagement. He is proficient in Teammate+, Pastel Evolution, and the Microsoft Office suite.
