Lorraine is a seasoned legal practitioner with over a decade of experience in corporate and commercial law, governance, and regulatory compliance. As Senior Legal Counsel for Project Yananai Zimbabwe, Lorraine brings a wealth of expertise in legal advisory, statutory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and corporate governance, ensuring that the organization operates with integrity, transparency, and in alignment with best practices.
Lorraine’s legal career has seen her serve in key roles such as Corporate Secretary and Legal Officer at The Heritage School, and Legal Officer at Steelmakers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, where she has advised boards, drafted and negotiated contracts, developed policies, and overseen risk management strategies. Her background includes extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and revising company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance, as well as coordinating shareholder meetings, preparing board resolutions, and supporting management and staff on governance issues.
She is particularly skilled in legal analysis, contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and the development of training programs to enhance compliance and legal awareness across organizations. Lorraine is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and her ability to provide logical, proactive solutions to complex legal challenges.
Lorraine holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), a Master in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Master in Commercial Law at the University of Zimbabwe. She also holds an International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance from the International Compliance Association.
She is a registered Legal Practitioner and an active member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe, International Compliance Association, and the Corporate Governance Institute.
