Innocent Moyo
Country Director
Innocent Moyo is a results-driven and collaborative Humanitarian Response and Development Specialist with over 15 years of experience designing, leading, and managing large-scale, multi-sectoral programmes in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region. With a proven track record of delivering sustainable impact in food security, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, and resilience, Innocent is recognized for his ability to provide strategic guidance, technical direction, and programmatic leadership in complex, high-pressure environments.
Innocent has successfully overseen and delivered on complex, multi-partner projects funded by major international donors such as Irish Aid, UKAID, Trócaire, USAID/BHA, FCDO, the EU, WFP, and UNICEF. He excels at managing diverse teams, implementing effective monitoring and evaluation systems, and integrating gender-responsive strategies to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable communities. His expertise includes stakeholder coordination, partnership building, and navigating complex donor requirements, ensuring program compliance and accountability at every stage.
Most recently, as Commodities Officer for World Vision Zimbabwe, Innocent led the implementation of disaster risk reduction and food assistance strategies, managed multi-million-dollar resources, and built strong partnerships with government ministries, local authorities, and traditional leaders. He has previously held pivotal roles as Project Officer for UNICEF-funded Emergency Social Cash Transfer, District Coordinator for the FCDO-funded Girls Education Challenge, and Humanitarian Project Officer for Trócaire’s emergency response and recovery initiatives. Earlier in his career, he coordinated emergency response and recovery programs at ZimPro and led the Matobo Green Society climate response programme with HIVOS.
Innocent is skilled in program leadership, strategy development, proposal and report writing, partnership management, financial oversight, and people management. He is adept at fostering collaborative and high-performing teams, mentoring emerging leaders, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both staff and beneficiaries.
He holds a Master’s in Development Studies from the University of the Free State (South Africa), a Diploma in Development and Disaster Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Disaster Management from the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe). He also holds a BSc in Geography and Environmental Studies from Zimbabwe Open University and multiple professional certifications in humanitarian accountability, monitoring and evaluation, and disaster risk reduction.
As Country Director for Project Yananai Zimbabwe, Innocent leads the national strategy, partnerships, and operations—championing innovative, community-centered approaches to humanitarian response and sustainable development. His commitment to excellence, accountability, and inclusive leadership ensures that Project Yananai continues to deliver measurable, lasting change for Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable communities.
