Dudzai Talent Kahuni
National Program Manager - Humanitarian Aid
Dudzai is a dedicated and passionate humanitarian professional with a decade of experience in NGO program coordination, community engagement, and youth empowerment. Dudzai leverages her strong background in designing, implementing, and monitoring multi-donor humanitarian and educational programs to drive impactful change in vulnerable communities.
Dudzai has successfully coordinated major initiatives funded by partners such as Materra Foundation, Allan Gray, USAID, and the US Embassy, leading teams of up to 16 officers and international volunteers. She has demonstrated expertise in program implementation, stakeholder relationship management, and donor reporting, with a proven track record of supervising large-scale education and youth development projects. Her leadership has enabled over 700 children across 16 public schools to benefit from educational interventions, and more than 300 youth to receive mentorship, with over 60% pursuing university or tertiary education and others receiving scholarships or participating in exchange programs.
As a technical advisor and child safeguarding committee member, Dudzai has co-developed risk assessment tools, medical response protocols, and safeguarding policies that have been rolled out to staff and external partners. She has also been instrumental in creating Botswana’s first parenting docudrama, "Dithunya Tsa Rona," to promote safe, nurturing homes for children.
Dudzai’s strong background in capacity building is evident in her work as a master trainer for financial literacy and social awareness programs, where she has trained teachers, out-of-school youth, and implementing partners across Botswana. She co-designed curricula for the English Access Micro-scholarship Program, ensuring its alignment with national education standards and facilitating access to further educational opportunities for disadvantaged learners.
Her achievements include receiving the US Alumni Exchange Innovation Fund grant for the "Everyone Can Learn Project," which produced a learning booklet empowering hundreds of underserved youth with vital life skills. She has also contributed to English literacy interventions recognized at the national level and participated in research efforts across 50 public primary schools.
Dudzai holds a BA in International Relations from the University of South Africa, and is currently pursuing an MA in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (Kalu Institute, Spain) and a Diploma in Advanced Criminology (Gaborone University College of Law). She is certified in project management, monitoring and evaluation, wellness coaching, and creating engaging learning environments. Her additional training includes trauma counseling, parent effectiveness, and prevention of teenage relationship abuse.
A committed advocate for child rights and education, Dudzai volunteers with the Children’s Rights Network in Southern Africa (CRINSA) and as a language translator for women’s health information with URIDU, supporting outreach to rural women across Africa.
At Project Yananai, Dudzai Talent Kahuni leads humanitarian aid efforts with a focus on inclusive education, child protection, and sustainable community development, empowering vulnerable children and youth to build brighter, more resilient futures.
