Dr Kakomo is a versatile and accomplished professional with over three decades of experience spanning human resource management, business leadership, program delivery, and marketing across the public, private, and development sectors in Southern Africa. He draws upon a rich academic background and a diverse career to ensure efficient program execution, organizational effectiveness, and the growth of high-performing teams.

Dr. Kakomo holds a PhD in Leadership Models for Social Enterprises from the Gideon Robert University in Zambia. He also earned a Master of Business Leadership and both Bachelor and Honours degrees in Commerce from the University of South Africa, as well as a Marketing Management Diploma and a Diploma in Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. This multidisciplinary academic foundation underpins his expertise in strategic leadership, business operations, and organizational development.

Dr. Kakomo’s professional journey includes significant leadership roles. As Managing Director of Clothing Creation (2004–2016), he led business development, staff coaching, and overall profitability for a family enterprise. His marketing and management acumen was further honed at Wankie Colliery Co. Ltd, where he rose from Marketing Officer to Marketing Manager, overseeing regional market research, logistics, and product promotion strategies. Earlier in his career, he managed donor-funded project finances as an Accounts Clerk at the Ministry of Health and gained valuable experience in metals and mineral commodities at Anglo American.

Since 2018, Dr. Kakomo has contributed to higher education as a Lecturer at Pace College Harare, teaching project management, entrepreneurship, tourism, business studies, and public health for the UK’s Institute of Commercial Management. He concurrently serves as a Business Consultant, supporting market development, new business strategies, and entrepreneurship for a diverse client portfolio.

Known for his strong leadership in staff development, program management, and organizational culture, Dr. Kakomo excels at optimizing workflows, improving team performance, and delivering results-driven programs. His hands-on experience in financial management, HR, and stakeholder engagement further augments his ability to align people strategies with organizational mission and programmatic impact.
