David Chioneso Dzikiti
National Head of Communications
David is a results-driven marketing and communications leader with over 15 years of progressive experience spanning brand management, digital marketing, business development, and strategic communications across diverse sectors. As National Head of Communications for Project Yananai Zimbabwe, David brings a proven track record of developing and executing impactful communication strategies, building strong client and stakeholder relationships, and driving organizational growth through innovative brand and media initiatives.
David’s expertise is rooted in both academic achievement and hands-on leadership. He holds a BA in Media Studies from Zimbabwe Open University, a BSc Honours in International Marketing from Chinhoyi University of Technology, and an Executive Certificate in Diplomacy, Etiquette, Professional Grooming & Protocol from the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy. He is currently advancing his business acumen by pursuing an Executive Masters in Business Administration at Midlands State University.
Throughout his career, David has held senior marketing roles in leading organizations. As Head of Marketing at Premier Tobacco Auction Floor, he led multi-channel campaigns to grow market share, enhance brand visibility, and attract new clients—while managing budgets, digital strategies, and a high-performing team. His experience as Business Development & Marketing Manager with organizations such as Management Training Bureau, Genesis Block Africa, and the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe demonstrates his ability to exceed growth targets, develop strategic partnerships, and manage public relations, social media, and events to drive engagement and impact.
David’s skills also include brand compliance and franchisee training (Simbisa Franchising Zimbabwe), marketing execution and event management (Impala Car Rental), and export coordination and market intelligence (Hunyani Paper & Packaging). He is highly skilled in strategic planning, digital marketing, client service, team leadership, and project management, with a strong analytical mindset to measure and optimize campaign effectiveness.
He is a Certified Marketing Practitioner (IMM), a senior member of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, and holds additional professional certifications in export marketing (Zimtrade), customer service, and digital marketing.
At Project Yananai Zimbabwe, David leads the communications function, crafting compelling narratives, managing stakeholder engagement, and leveraging digital platforms to amplify the organization’s mission and impact. His visionary leadership, creative approach, and commitment to excellence ensure that Project Yananai’s programs are communicated with clarity, credibility, and authenticity, building trust and mobilising support for transformational change in Zimbabwe.
