Brandon is an admitted attorney and accomplished labour law specialist with extensive experience in employee relations, dispute resolution, and civil litigation. As Senior Legal Counsel at Project Yananai South Africa, Brandon leverages over a decade of expertise to guide the organization through complex legal landscapes, championing fair and compliant workplace practices and safeguarding organizational integrity.
Brandon’s legal career spans high-impact roles across both the private and public sectors. Most recently, as Senior Employee Relations Consultant at The Foschini Group (TFG), he has provided strategic legal advice to HR professionals and line management on labour law, guided internal policy development, and represented the company at the CCMA. His strengths include policy drafting, union engagement, compliance reviews, and the delivery of legal training.
Prior to TFG, Brandon served as Employee Relations Specialist at the University of Cape Town, where he influenced policy on leave, retrenchment, and disciplinary procedures, supported ethics and compliance initiatives, and advised on matters before the Labour Court. His experience also includes senior roles at Excellerate Services (PTY) Ltd, where he managed recruitment and industrial relations, chaired disciplinary hearings, and oversaw dispute resolution processes.
Brandon’s background as an attorney at Laas & Scholtz Attorneys, Cape Town, further solidified his expertise in labour law, employment contracts, and litigation before the CCMA and Labour Court. He is also experienced in drafting legal opinions, managing civil litigation matters, and providing legal training—having served as a part-time lecturer in Labour Law and Industrial Relations at CPUT.
Brandon holds an LLM (Professional) in Labour Law from the University of Cape Town and an LLB (Honours) from the University of the Western Cape. He is fluent in English and Afrikaans and has completed LEAD post-legal training.
