Zi brings over a decade of senior leadership experience spanning healthcare, biomedical research, and commercial strategy to Project Yananai. He combines a scientist's rigour with a communicator's clarity, a balance that has shaped his career at the intersection of technology, education and human impact.

Zi currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at 3DSynthesis, where he leads the translation of laboratory research into real-world healthcare and education solutions, and holds academic posts at University College London as a Research Fellow and Assistant Lecturer. His work applying virtual and augmented reality to medical training has been published with evidence of measurable gains in learning outcomes and practical skill development, work that reflects his deep belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Before moving into healthcare and biomedical innovation, Zi held executive roles guiding large-scale commercial and infrastructure programmes, including a national retail rebrand that grew company value tenfold, and international land modernisation initiatives coordinating hundreds of millions of dollars in combined public and private investment. Earlier still, he worked as a diplomatic translator and relations consultant, building bridges between governments, institutions and communities.

Zi holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and an MSc in Drug Discovery and Development from UCL, alongside a triple BSc from the University of Warwick. Fluent across English, Mandarin and Hungarian, he has spent his career building relationships and translating complex ideas into action across cultures and continents.

At Project Yananai, Zi leads our cross-functional Integrated Theory of Change Framework, bringing his experience in evidence-led delivery, stakeholder engagement and cross-border collaboration to our mission of harnessing education for sustainable community development.
