Community Learning Hubs
Many underserved communities around the world have no safe and secure learning space and environment where individuals can access resources to empower them in their journey to break the cycle of poverty.
Project Yananai, through the Yananai Hubs project is developing learning hubs made from used shipping containers, powered by solar energy and fitted with satellite internet links to provide self-contained, self-powered, safe learning zones.

We Recycle Containers
Over 17 million containers are in circulation worldwide. Approximately 1300 are lost at sea annually. At least 14 million containers remain unused.

We Provide Learning Zones
Yananai Hubs establishes a community centre where individuals can access courses online and face-to-face. Material can be accessed in local languages

We Focus On Sustainability
Our courses empower individuals to become financially self-reliant sustainably. Our hub design, construction and useage strategy promote green standards.
Hub Features
Each hub is designed and located to integrate into the local community.

Community based
We work in partnership with community members and organisations to provide a learning portal that supports local needs.

Training content
Course content is selected and developed by training professionals. The training curriculum options constitute the latest information applicable to each local community.

Training resources
Modern resources to support face-to-face and digital learning. Computer hardware running full software packages providing access and tools to support training tasks and activities.

Solar powered
Hubs harness solar energy to run a self-powered system. Solar power is sustainable and independent from unstable local grids. Learning equipment is available for use when needed.

Satellite internet link
Hardware is connected to the internet primarily through satellite links. This allows trainees to benefit from uninterrupted access to online resources and live streaming sessions.

Positive impact
Yananai Hubs project provides a pathway for individuals in underserved communities to entrepreneurship, employment and financial self-reliance in a sustainable way.
