As Deputy Chief Infrastructure Officer for Project Yananai, he supports the design, delivery, and resilience of the organisation's technical and physical infrastructure – including Community Learning Hubs, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and network systems – ensuring that mission delivery is supported by robust, scalable, and sustainable systems.

Tonino brings a distinguished track record of driving operational efficiency and technological innovation at scale. Most recently, as Head of Cloud, AI & Technology Operations at a major UK retailer, he orchestrated the full migration of on‑premises datacentre infrastructure to AWS in six months with zero downtime, delivering annual operational savings of £1.8 million. He designed and implemented a comprehensive internal AI ecosystem featuring RAG‑based knowledge systems, automated support chatbots, and agentic code review tools, delivering an AI coaching platform that reduced HR cases by 40% and a root cause analysis system that decreased customer tickets by 30%. He also led a global network overhaul, replacing legacy MPLS with a high‑performance SD‑WAN architecture, resulting in £800,000 annual cost savings.

Previously, as Head of Infrastructure and DevOps at a leading homewares retailer, Tonino built a DevOps team from the ground up, creating a serverless Path to Live capability in AWS and a CI/CD pipeline library that he presented at the AWS Summit London.
