Roberto Peres Araujo
Chief Advancement Officer
Roberto Peres Araujo is a strategic philanthropy and business development leader with over nine years of experience driving revenue growth across non‑profit fundraising, major gifts, and B2B sales, having raised more than £9.5 million for mission‑driven organisations. As Chief Advancement Officer at Project Yananai, he leads the global Advancement function – integrating fundraising, strategic partnerships, and communications – to secure the resources needed to scale the organisation’s integrated Theory of Change across India, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Concurrently, Roberto continues to serve as Head of Fundraising for a leading STEM education charity, where he manages a £1.35 million donor pipeline and leads a team securing funding from trusts, foundations, HNWIs, and alumni networks. Prior to this, he held senior roles in international development and humanitarian organisations, where he secured and renewed seven‑figure gifts from ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, built multi‑year corporate partnerships, and led teams to significantly increase annual revenue. He has also served as Chief Executive of a medical research charity, leading a partnership with a major children’s hospital and securing a £1 million unrestricted donation while expanding international donor relations.
Roberto began his career in B2B sales, acquiring over 200 clients and driving a £2 million turnover. He holds a degree as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy from The American College of Financial Services, a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge, and a Certificate in Philanthropy Psychology from the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy.
A native Portuguese speaker, Roberto is passionate about community service and has volunteered as a fundraiser for Indigenous communities in Brazil, served as President of his local Rotary Club, and led operations for a faith‑based community organisation.
He is committed to turning bold visions into funded, deliverable programmes that break cycles of poverty and build lasting community resilience.
