He leverages his deep sectoral expertise across FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and e-commerce, as Senior Legal Counsel at Project Yananai India, to provide robust legal guidance and ensure business integrity.
Rakesh’s career has spanned senior legal and compliance roles at leading organizations such as Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers Ltd. (Wagh Bakri Tea Group), Parle Agro, and Zeon Lifesciences. He has led legal strategy and compliance for the rollout of 50+ retail outlets nationwide, managed IPR portfolios, and spearheaded anti-counterfeiting enforcement across e-commerce and physical platforms. His experience also includes managing complex regulatory requirements under FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Environmental Laws, and brand and packaging compliance.
He is highly adept at drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, managing land and property due diligence, and handling litigation before the Supreme Court, High Courts, Tribunals, and District Courts. Rakesh has successfully led teams through corporate restructuring, M&A filings, and risk management for major retail and manufacturing operations. His background also covers cyber law, privacy, digital evidence, and real estate transactions, as well as advising foreign clients on market entry and regulatory approvals in India.
Rakesh holds a B.A. LL.B. from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and an Executive Program in Business & Corporate Laws from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
