Malenga is a seasoned finance and grants management professional with over 13 years of experience in local and international not‑for‑profit organisations. As Deputy Head of Funding and Grants Management for Project Yananai in Zambia, he supports the national funding team in donor compliance, grant reporting, due diligence, budgeting, and financial oversight – helping to ensure that resources are managed with transparency and accountability.

Malenga currently serves as Senior Grants Specialist at the Zambian Governance Foundation, where he manages a GBP 3.6 million portfolio funded by Comic Relief/FCDO, implements due diligence on sub‑grantees, and trains civil society organisations in financial management and participatory grant making. Prior to that, he held a regional Finance Officer position at HIVOS (Southern Africa), overseeing grant portfolios for donors including SIDA, the Ford Foundation, the EU, the Dutch Foreign Affairs, UNICEF, and DFID across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Uganda. He has also served as Finance and Administration Officer at Environment Africa, managing donor projects for the Zambia Governance Foundation, Terre des Hommes, GIZ, and Kindernothilfe Lux.

Malenga holds a Master of Science in Risk Management from the University of Lusaka, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Zambia, and is a Licentiate member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZiCA). He has completed specialised training in Financial Management for Development Professionals (Finance DPro), Sustainable Finance, and Disaster Risk Financing. He is a member of ZiCA and Lions Club International.

Fluent in English, Malenga is committed to strengthening financial systems and grant compliance to support Project Yananai’s sustainable skills programmes and Community Learning Hubs in Zambia.
