Akshay is a globally experienced Learning & Development and human resources professional with over ten years of experience across staffing, e‑commerce, digital media, and technology consulting sectors. As Chief People and Governance Officer at Project Yananai, he leads the People and Governance Division – overseeing talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, organisational culture, governance, compliance, and sustainability. He serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Trustees, ensuring that our people systems and governance frameworks are robust, inclusive, and aligned with our mission and growth ambitions.

Akshay joined Project Yananai as Deputy Chief People and Governance Officer, where he quickly made a significant impact – strengthening recruitment pipelines, developing process optimisation and performance frameworks, and rolling out professional development pathways including PMD Pro certification. His seamless transition to CPGO reflects his deep understanding of our people, culture, and operational needs.

Prior to joining Project Yananai, Akshay built and led global Learning & Development functions for major international groups, designing leadership programmes, performance management frameworks, and career architecture across the UK, Europe, Asia‑Pacific, and the Americas. He has held senior talent roles at a global technology consulting firm, a leading print media company, and was a founding HR team member of a fast‑growing e‑commerce start‑up that scaled from 50 to over 3,000 employees. 

Akshay holds a Master’s in Human Resources from the London School of Economics (CIPD Level 7) and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He is passionate about building organisational capability, coaching leaders, and creating inclusive, high‑performance cultures that enable mission‑driven organisations to thrive.
